Cadillac Jack's Gaming Resort Wins Coveted 2007 Mickelson Great Service Award
Every year the George S. Mickelson Great Service Award honors a business or organization that has taken hospitality to the next level. Exemplary customer service is a core component of the winner's operation, and recipients of the award understand that customer satisfaction is a key to success.
For 2007, Cadillac Jack's Gaming Resort was awarded one of the two George S. Mickelson Great Service Awards at the Governor's Tourism Conference in Pierre.
In the words of Governor Rounds "Cadillac Jack's Gaming Resort and the AmericInn Hotel & Suites of Deadwood have displayed exceptional hospitality and shown that exemplary customer service and staff training are high priorities."
Cadillac Jack's Gaming Resort's hospitality philosophy states that "customers are not an interruption of our work. They are the purpose of it. We are not doing them a favor by serving them. They are doing us a favor by giving us the opportunity to do so."
Employees of Cadillac Jack's go above and beyond in their customer service efforts. Employees are recognized for a job well done with service pins, name recognition in the employee newsletter, and "Star Bucks". The Managers award the "Star Bucks" to employees whose performance embraces the company's core values. The "Star Bucks" can be used to purchase gas cards, gift shop items, meals, and hotel rooms.
In 2007, 47 employees of Cadillac Jack's received the Governor's Hospitality Certificates, which are framed and displayed on the property. And they don't stop there. Cadillac Jack's holds monthly department meetings at which time the staff is encouraged to offer their suggestions to improve customer service. In addition, professional trainers are retained for in-house hospitality training throughout the year. In the words of Governor Rounds, "It's no wonder that the staff does such a tremendous job."
